About The Author
Winifred Parker, affectionately known as “Winn,” resides in Chelsea, Michigan with her husband, Joe. She has four children and seven grandchildren. Her grandson, Vince, has always been asking her to tell him a scary story. His request encouraged the writing of this book. However, making Vince and his sister, Julia, a part of the stories was an extra that he did not expect. This is Winn Parker’s first publication and, hopefully, not the last.

About the Book
What was it like during the Depression? What was it like during World War II? How did women cope? What made families so special in the 40s and 50s? Were there women ahead of their time? How did a divorced young mother cope in the early years, when this was not “common”? Etta Wilson Lawrence’s book answers these questions and more.
She shares eighty-two years of living history with her readers. She has worked in a wide range of jobs. Quite frankly, there is little she has not done and not seen. And there are those fond and funny moments when she would visit the farm and enjoy the butterflies or the family pig. Then, she shares her experiences as she traveled in the US and in the Caribbean. And what about that bull and outhouse?
Etta shares:
It took me three years to put together my first book, Scraps of Family History, which was never published. We had seventy-five copies printed and gave seventy-two of them to family and friends who thought that some of the “stories” from that book might be interesting to someone other than family. I hope that my readers will enjoy it and attempt to write some of their own “Family Stories.”
This work shares the poignant moments of experiencing the love of children, the loss of a child, the love of more than one husband, the loss of more than one, the joy of becoming a grandmother, and the joy of being a writer. Any reader who is ready to curl up and listen to the real life story of a dynamic and avant garde lady who has met every challenge with zest and fortitude, then, this is the book to read!

About The Book
First, this book is not for the person who wants information about studies about how to become a school administrator or statistics related to schools at risk. This information can be ascertained in any graduate level, university course.
This book is an electronic hands-on support. It is for those who think they want to become a school principal, who definitely want to become a school principal, who are actively preparing to become a school principal, and who are presently principals. No theory—practical information that addresses the various challenges experienced in the profession.
Four individuals who have served or is serving in this role answer questions posed by the editor/author that focus on challenges that principals do experience. In addition, this work adds responses from a seasoned teacher.
Finally, accompanying this e-Book is an electronic DVD, Cases of Concerns, that dramatize real challenges that principals face, bullying resulting in a violent response, parental responses to a situation, conflict in a tutorial session, and conflict between workers. The principals give insight on how they would have avoided and/or handled these conflict situations.
This e-Book is for the person who wants more than textbook about educational administration. It is a publication that provides quick electronic access to answers for the principal who needs a resource that addresses a wide range of challenges s/he will face.

About the Book
The best way to describe this book of poetry is to let the works accomplish this task. It should be very apparent that this poet reflects not only about his role as a soldier but that as a friend and as a person of the world.
CAROUSEL
Carousels are filled
with intricate detail:
blue colors, red colors, green—
—all Colors
Carousels liken unto life:
—Moving Up
—Moving Down
cyclical,
a wonder when observed,
a joy, even, if you relax and enjoy
the ride.
—Listen to that music,
—Hold on to that bar;
—HOW WONDERFUL
EXISTENTIAL STATE OF MIND
Existential complexity of mine—
literally, of mind.
Life is what you
make it.
The mind is where you are, or
where you want to be.
This Iraq sand is golden, the sky
a violet and blue-brushed
watercolor reality.
Tensioins, slight and warlike
ride the air;
all is unknown.
Yet we are optimistic, and living
with smiles and the stain of emotions
on hearts, from loved ones left behind.
We are of all shades, cultures,
and minds, existing while seeking
more living.
We are soldiers.
I am a soldier
in an existential state
of mind. Still breathing,
still dreaming, mentally
escaping, continually, loving—
and I will be
home soon.
THE BUGLE CALLS
(For CPT Terrance Wright, 1LT Jeremy Wolfe, and our Fallen Comrades)
Having been a witness at the windows of your soul,
where we shared goals, dreams, and life
stories, I listened to you speaking of wanting
to marry and have children. I watched
your silent faith speak volumes. Having been
even prepared for war, no one is prepared to lose
a friend and comrade like this.
Although your journey shortened, a Soldier’s soul never dies.
A flag is folded for you, and the bugle’s tone vibrates
similar to your spirit in the air; it never ceases, always plays.
You are remembered and respected
as I pray for you, having been a witness
at the windows of your soul.
Tears run sharply down
my face and theirs, my hand goes sharply up,
fingers to the corner of my right brow.
Young paratrooper, you are remembered.
These three poems are very different in style. The messages touch on different facets of life, a light of light-heartedness, provocative reflection, and respectful tribute to those who have passed. The poetry by Captain Adrian D. Massey is not all the same—not the messages or style. This collection of poetry is a fine representation of the new poetry of the 21st century—bold, unpatterned, and, still, full of provocative messages.
About the Author
Adrian D. Massey is a Captain in the U.S. Army. Writing became his first love since he has been in the military. During his first deployment to Iraq, he became even more close to his pen. He wrote the majority of the poetry in this book during that first deployment. Captain Massey grew up in Inkster, MI, was an associate minister in a small pentecostal chruch, and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. Currently, he is engaged in his second deployment in Iraq. He sees some of his poetry as “edgy.” However, he makes it very clear that he is committed to the Soldiers and serves proudly.

About The Book
Randy Grames is the main character and the middle-aged man. He is a husband and father of two. He loves his family. He is not pretentious. He is a “golden-rule” man. He treats people as he wishes to be treated. He believes in fair play. One day he finds a very special box. He opens the box and his life to new adventures. He gains powers. He uses these powers in various adventures—some anticipated and others, most definitely, not. All readers will enjoy the adventures and the illustrations that accompany them. This work will appeal to youth and adults.
Reviews
Russ Grimes was born in Michigan in 1967 and has lived there his whole life. He is a fan of fantasy books and action adventure movies. These are what inspired many of the conceptual ideas for this book. He started thinking about how a hero character could balance every day situations with a family. He enjoys writing as a great way to express his creativity and share it with others.

Reviews
One of the nice things about Black History Month is that we get exposed to a concentration of Black oriented art and literature. But after that, we often face a drought. As this puzzlebook shows, there is enough African American culture to last year ’round. “Puzzle book is perhaps not the best description of this book. Rather than a small, hand-sized, paperback that you might slip into a briefcase or purse, it appears more like an education workbook; spirally bound with 8.5″ by 11″ pages standing almost 2” thick. Its pages seem particularly suited for detachment and photocopying as if part of a school lesson on black culture. “Some of the themes would be perfect for the TV-show Jeopardy (you know, when it has that Black/African History column) such as “Winners of the Tony Award,” “Top Women Architects,” and “Jazz Immortals.” Lest these puzzles be labeled stodgy, it should be noted that “Ten at the Top of Hip Hop” and “TV Hunks” are among the more than 100 puzzles found within. The book also has sections devoted to African-American culture as well as African culture throughout the world.”

About the Book
Also, with the 2nd book of the Lea Trilogy, the author has made key revisions. Illustrations are added to this work as well. Indeed, it will be an even more enjoyable read for readers of all ages.
This work continues the adventures of a different special horse, Anan. She has her unique personality. She, too, learns to follow her path. She becomes a part of a new family, has to encounter a dangerous bully, falls in love, has a foal, and encounters the final challenge–death. This story is beautifully told. It is a story for pre-teens. It is a story for those who are trying to find their paths in this very challenging world. It is through this story about special horses that ten through thirteen year-olds will be able to relate.
Reviews
“In the sequel to LEA’S SONG, title ANAN, JaiLeen Shepherd once again charms readers with a new cast of animal and insect characters and their message-laden dialogues. Shepherd’s flowing storyline is seasoned with such original and quirky characters as a grouchy tortoise and a princess bee…
“Shepherd simultaneously develops her plot twists all while enhancing the vocubulary of younger (and even ‘older’) readers with words such as ‘proboscis.’
“This reviewer especially enjoyed the dialogue between Goldie the bee and Ol’ Grouch the tortoise in which the princess bee allows herself to be rescued from the grouch’s back by Anan–the little vociferous horse with the magical, healing horn.
“Shepherd’s sequel will have readers compare some of the plot, with its wonderful dialogues, to Felix Sahen’s Bambi or St. Exupery’s Le Petit Prince…
“One plot twist coming full circle to the why Anan’s life almost…parallels that of her (now) spiritual mentor Lea. Although readers may be left pondering the whys and wherefore [of the ending], they will acknowledge Shepherd’s continuing magic and eagerly await the final installment [Suzi-Q].”

“…It is important to understand that this author does not think one English dialect is better than another. However, rules of the Standard English are what this book will emphasize. In order for you or anyone to have more career and personal choices, it is imperative that an individual masters these rules. This does not discount other forms of English. Still, the professional choices are limited as well as the ability to move comfortably within various social circles when an individual knows only one dialect. So, let anyone of you who question ‘why’ of learning these rules of Standard English focus on the ‘how.’ Keep in mind you have the choice to use various forms of English. The mastery of Standard English broadens the scope of those choices and the opportunities for the writer and the speaker.”

About the Book
Bootmaker to the Nation chronicles the lives of two early American characters, Benjamin and Genevieve, whose lives will fill you with homegrown pride and a renewed sense of what it truly means to be American. It is fundamentally a moving story of courage, struggle and hope–set during a time when our fledgling country searched for its unique identity and independence. The life of Benjamin York, a British-born apprentice cobbler and committed freedom fighter, parallels the evolution of a newly formed union that would become the United States.
Slade’s novel makes our history accessible and real. Had we read this book as children instead of so many chapters in history textbooks, we would now possess a much deeper understanding of the defining moments that lead our founding fathers to risk everything for our future.
Bootmaker to the Nation is a love story on many levels, but it also allows you to live American history through the eyes of Benjamin and Genevieve as you revel in their trials, hardships and triumphs. You will feel a growing prescence of something great about to happen as you fly through these pages. Slade weaves a poingnant and mesmerizing narrative of two young Americans seamlessly with the history of our revolution. From the arduous trip across the Atlantic aboard a British frigate to the last days of the American Revolution, you will accompany Benjamin York, and his friends and family, on an epic journey. You will experience firsthand the tense battle on the green at Lexington, the relentless attack at Bunker Hill, the harsh winter at Valley Forge and the decisive battle at Yorktown. History will finally make sense.
Now more than ever, when a renewed patriotism no longer rests only with government leaders, the American spirit and heart is uplifted by this tale. This is an exhilarating novel that will simply enthrall you with its adventure, sensitivity and humanity.
If you love America, this book will make you love it more!
Reviews
Reader: Bob Spear, Publisher and Chief Review, Heartland Reviews
Bootmaker to the Nation is a superbly written historical novel featuring an elderly couple writing about their experinces in the founding of our nation. Ben is a British apprentice cobbler caught by a British Navy press gang. He is taken to a ship and forced into duty as a sailor. Arriving in the colonies, he escapes, only to be captured by British Army soldiers. Again, forced to drill and march against his will, he is captured by American revolutionaries on the way back from Concord and Lexington. One of his captors is a young lady, Genevieve, and her brothers and father. Ben becomes a revolutionary. He teaches Genevieve to read and write. She becomes a courier and later a scribe to General George Washington. The entire war and the accompanying political revolution are viewed through these two characters’ eyes in their old age.
Although the length of the book is daunting, the author pulls the reader through it so well, it is hard to put down. His use of detail in the settings and the emotions of the characters are masterfully wrought. The reader is drawn into the miseries of soldeir life with no pay, no food, and inadequate protection from the elements, which are endured for an ideal, despite the lack of support from their fellow Americans. This is a history lesson made totally realistic by the author’s blending of a myriad number of facts with how they affected the characters’ lives. We rated this book a very high five hearts.

I thoroughly enjoyed Bootmaker to the Nation. Lengthy books are not my usual, so I was a bit startled when I saw the number of pages. However, having committed to review, I began to read. I could not put it down and was captivated as the story unfolded and each life became real. It was an adventure back in time to an era that undoubtedly birthed ournation, and I was there. I have admired George Washington. Over and over again, his strength, honor, courage, and integrity were demonstrated. No wonder the soldiers followed him! I find it interesting that the percentage of the colonists (patriots) willing to fight ws so small compared to the population at the time. I guess I had not given much thought to the fact that not everyone was involved in the fighting the war, much less some keeping needed supplies hidden or even worse selling them to the enemy for profit. Dr. Slade did such a marvelous job in totally describing this time period that the vivid picture painted of the Revolutionary War will not be erased in my mind. I would, in fact, read it again!
I have recommended Bootmaker to the Nation to some of the home school parents and will continue to do so.
I think Bootmaker to the Nation would make a great movie!!

A few days ago, I received a 721 page book called, “Bootmaker to the Nation” by Dr. John Slade, to review. My first thought when looking at the enormous tome, was, “Fat chance I’ll get around to reading this.” I dropped it on my coffee table and forgot about it. Later that evening, I picked it up and started ruffling through, wondering who I could give it to to review for me! However, having nothing pressing to do at the moment, I began reading the first chapter. I was immediately hooked!
The book is historical fiction set at the time of the American Revolution, 1763 to 1783. The story is told from the point of view of a London boy named Benjamin and an American girl named Genevieve. Dr. Slade begins the story in London where Benjamin, an 18-year old cobbler’s son, is kidnapped and taken aboard the Lively, a British frigate, to be pressed into His Majesty’s navy. During the trip over he is forced to become a topman where he must climb to the top of the ship’s mast to furl and set the sail. This whole section kept me biting my nails! After he lands, he is then forced to learn to become a soldier for the Redcoats. His only goal, however, is to escape and get back to London.
The story then takes us from Benjamin’s story to Genevieve’s story. I don’t want to say much more about the plot because that’s what kept me hooked! And while I was hooked, I learned about each of the battles of the Revolution, the weapons that were used, the people involved, and why we fought the war. This was much better than a history textbook!
Dr. Slade’s goal in writing the book is to teach us to “love American history, understand our nation’s first war, meet our Founding Fathers as people, not as wooden heroes, and look to the future with an educated eye.” He definitely fulfills this goal.
I highly recommend this for 9th graders and up. It’s available at local bookstores.

About the Book
This work is a collection of five short stories with illustrations that bring the stories alive. They are stories that can help anyone learn how to live and survive in the wild with Mother Nature at her best. Many of the tales are taken from the real-life adventures of the author.
This is just the first in a series of short stories that are to be published.
About the Author
“My father was the last traditional Aleut chief of our village. I took his place later in life, but by then the position came under the title of Village Council President. He raised me to take his place someday, by teaching me how to hunt at an early age. My training started at three years of age. I went out with him and carried the game we killed in my backpack and learned by observing him. After three years, at six years of age, one morning as I gathered my 22 rifle and backpack, he told me to go out alone and hunt until I killed something and was not to come back until I did. That was my hunting test. I passed. I got a ptarmigan just at sunset, an hour before dark.
“I did not become a man in his eyes until I killed my first brown bear. After that, at the age of ten, I was a man in father’s eyes, and he game me responsibilities accordingly. I was the last to go through these hunting tests.”
It is from these experiences that this author, a full-blooded Aleut, in northern Alaska, has developed his tales.

About The Book
This work addresses a major crisis in online education, especially college English composition courses—attrition. Some, yes, determine that this methodology is not the best way to learn. And so, they probably take an on-campus course. However, many do not. And they are students whom this book is focusing on retaining. This work suggests testing instruments that may help in advising students to or not to take an online English course. Furthermore, the author shares what is in the research regarding techniques that can be implemented in online courses that may be successful in keeping the attrition rate low. She even implements some of these techniques and reports her experiences. So, this work is not just a theoretical discourse; it is an empirical response to the theory.
About The Author
Dr. Fairy Hayes-Scott has taught various humanities courses for over thirty years. She has a classroom named after her. And she is well-known for her devotion to her students as her high expectations of every student who enters her classroom. The passion that she has for teaching has not waned throughout these years. In 2003, she began teaching online English composition courses. And in these courses, she has found the new challenge of sharing information through the electronic medium. This work is an outgrowth of her concern for students not only whom she is teaching but for all those students who are challenged when taking online composition and, unfortunately, drop out. So, her devotion to all students is what has motivated her to write this work.

About The Book
The editor shares the teachings by a Western philosopher Paul. Paul takes readers through a spiritual journey. His purpose is not to make himself known; instead, he wants to provide guidance for every person to make his/her journey. And so, the editor shares what Paul teaches rather than identify Paul. Paul was the editor’s philosophy professor. Sir Peter Flanagan found that Paul was “a perfect example of one who lived the light. His life was a testament to the endless possibilities of the human spirit…Paul was an incarnation of love and mercy. Thus, like the Dalai Lama of Tibet, his life was an ode to beauty and truth.” This work is for every reader who is searching for truth and beauty, no matter his/her religion. Paul’s guidance will help one get through that journey for the ultimate truth, beauty, and love.
About The Author
The author, Paul, was a philosophy professor. In his later life, he moved from the United States and lived in Spain. In a small community, he lived and worked on a farm. He enjoyed the simplicity of life but was more than able to survive in the larger world. The best way to experience who this man was one must read his work.

2.People don’t understand how serious a hearing loss is–Deaf become angry at first then later accept (Scanlon 33).
3.Deaf have problems making changes from school, to work, and to community living , so they use hearing aids and signs (Sands 384).
C. Concluding Sentence:Deaf people cope with interaction in the hearing community by using hearing aids, accepting deafness, and using signs.
Deaf people cope with interaction in the hearing community in different ways. First, a hearing loss cuts people off from the world, so they use hearing aids (Vroman 35). A hearing aid helps the Deaf fit in the hearing world. Second, many people do not understand how serious a hearing loss is. Some deaf become angry at first. Then, later they accept being Deaf (Scanlon 33).
Third, the Deaf have problems making changes from school to work and to community living, so they use hearing aids and signs (Dunlap & Sands 384). Hearing aids help the Deaf. Therefore, Deaf people cope with interaction in the community by using hearing aids, accepting Deafness, and using signs.
(Charles Mofield, a Deaf student in the author’s developmental skills course, wrote the outline and research paragraph.)

This method has helped these youngsters communicate with their parents, teachers, and peers. The youngsters clearly demonstrate why they want people to “See Us Smart!”
About the Author
Ms. Brandl has a Masters Degree in Behavioral Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin. She began in 1966 working as a Special Education teacher. After taking several years off to raise her young children and several foster children, she returned to the classroom. Currently, she is teaching in an elementary school where she continues to find students who can benefit from the use of Facilitated Communication. They are children with autism, Down syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, and other disabilities.
Reviews
“The book shares a new way of thinking about disability. The book’s author assumes the competence of her students and this assumption of competence is the cornerstone of facilitated communicationÖThe real life stories neither glamorize nor moralize FC; they simply tell about a teacher’s perspective of FC and a deep and honest grappling for what this all meansÖYou use FC to liberate the voice of the voiceless!”

About the Book
This book is more than just a love story. It intertwines mystery and myth. All the characters involved weave the web of intrigue, drifting in and out of each other’s lives, like a deadly arachnid, spewing its venom and leaving in its wake—shattered hearts and lives. Each major character is well-developed and envelopes the reader: Devon Fournier, a successful fiction writer with more in her past than she even is aware of; Maria Winter, trusted Tribal Council member; the spirit of Barbara Winter, she haunts the reservation, serving as a catalyst for others to determine the true cause of her disappearance; and Ray Dolan, the detective and more to Devon Fournier. The minor characters, also, add to the intrigue of the story. This work is a page turner, one that every reader will enjoy and not want to put down until the very last page.

About the Book
This book analyzes foreigners’ cultural adjustment patterns in Japan in relation to the non-verbal code of the “bow” and its corresponding eye movement and hand position.
We have seen the simultaneous development both in terms of human interaction and the progress of communication and transportation technology since the latter half of the twentieth century. These social changes have created an increasing demand on people from different cultural backgrounds to encounter each other during travel, study, business and other various professional transactions. A heightened acceleration of face-to-face interaction among members of different cultures brought to light issues of cultural diversity and multiculturalism. At the same time, increased travel opportunities resulted in the creation of a closely interwoven network that calls for ways to reduce cultural barriers and promote closer interaction in various spheres of human society. This transformation has no doubt rendered the world a smaller place more than ever. Furthermore, the increased frequency of face-to-face interaction among people of different cultural, ethnic, social, and religious background calls us to create an open mindset, and see things through the eyes of others, whether host or new to a culture. People have increasingly realized that beneath the surface of every international and domestic affair lies a diversity of cultures and subcultures that provides the rich material for both direct human encounter as well as for point-to-point interaction.
The purpose of this book is three-fold. First, it presents the results of a study on non-verbal communication in Japan. Exploring insights on nonverbal communication is a first step to a successful cultural adaptation in this country. Studies on non-verbal communication have focused largely on descriptive accounts (Klopf & Ishii, 1987) and/or anecdotal reports of culture-specific experiences (Matsumoto, Wallbott & Scherer, 1989)). This work situates the non-verbal communication experiences of people from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds within the Japanese culture, and within the whole context of international communication. In so doing, it accomplishes the second goal: to show the explicit relation between international and intercultural communication. The continued expansion of and interest in these two fields of study, both in research and in the classroom, has given rise to some questions. Some of the most frequently asked questions by students include: “what is the relationship between these two fields of study?”, “are they two separate things?” and “how can we draw the dividing line between them?” No doubt, many books have been written about communication. Some books discuss the different types of human communication: personal, interpersonal, mass and business communication.
Some books analyze the application of technology in communication; still others are about cross-cultural contact. Many other books have been written about the theoretical approaches on the different aspects of communication, and perhaps their practical applications, and are difficult for beginning students. This book brings together relevant issues on communication research and practice to provide a general introduction to the field. It gives an extensive list of related studies, and the student is encouraged to read those that are of interest. By clarifying some general terms and concepts this work aims to situate Intercultural Communication within the larger umbrella of International Communication. It discusses concepts on International and Intercultural Communication in a summative way for easy understanding of university students who are learning communication for the first time, and learning it in English, as a foreign language Lastly, this book provides useful insights on coping and adjustment of sojourners and long term residents in Japan, where the unspoken message is a rule, and where non-verbal communication is a must. A study of both intercultural and international communication should begin with a clear understanding of Communication.
Chapter 1 introduces “Communication” as a study, and discusses general concepts related to Intercultural and International Communication based on existing literature. It is useful to the classroom teacher and students, as a friendly introduction to these fields of study. An attempt has been done to include some of the major issues to help students understand central concepts in communication studies. These concepts are particularly helpful to beginning students in understanding discussions in the latter parts of the book. At the same time, it can help teachers of Intercultural/ International Communication classes design a syllabus for the course.
By drawing up insights from volumes of studies on the field, Chapter 2 analyzes some important issues on Intercultural Communication research. Of particular interest in this study are intercultural adjustment and adaptation, culture shock, and nonverbal communication. This part of the book will link the different types intercultural communication discussed in Chapter 1 to the actual experiences of the different types of international travelers on short or long time duration in different host countries.
Chapter 3 presents the results of a study on the adaptation process and problems of two groups of foreigners: the sojourners and long term residents introduced in the previous chapter. The focus of discussions is on the psychological process of sojourners` adjustment and long-term residents` adaptation in Japan in reference to the nonverbal codes of ‘bowing” and “eye contact”. To the academicians and empirical researchers, it is the hoped that this chapter will provide useful insights on Intercultural Communication Studies that are culture specific. Last but certainly of equal importance, it will prove a useful guide to an understanding of nonverbal behavior of the Japanese. Thus, to short-term travelers, as well as long-term residents in Japan, this book is a must.

About The Book
This work takes the known accounts about Adam and Eve as told in the Bible and expands on what has not been shared. Readers know that the serpent manipulated Eve to bite of the forbidden fruit. However, what really occurred in Eve’s mind to make her take that bite? What really pushed Adam to follow? What were his thought processes? And once he realized the wrong, how did he and Eve handle their wrong? And did Adam ever battle with the serpent? What were those days like after they were thrown out of the garden? This work answers these questions and provides realistic accounts of the journey, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, that Adam and Eve had to make as they forged a life for themselves and their children. This work tells the story that is not told in the Bible; it is a story that will keep readers intrigued with the turn of every page. And as the story unfolds, readers will see themselves in this detailed account of deception, survival, and self-discovery.

About the Book
This work is for 5th to 8th graders. Malia is a little girl who is determined to plant a garden and nurture it to fruition. Others doubt she will be successful. Several of her friends just cannot understand her fascination with dirt and bugs and all that is a part of gardening. Still, this does not deter Malia from her task of growing a bountiful vegetable garden in the front of her home for all to see.
This work is about more than a little girl and her efforts to develop a vegetable garden. This work teaches an important lesson for all children (even for adults, too): once one has determined to do something worthwhile, even if it is not what others are doing, he or she should never “give up.” The rewards go beyond the task.
This beautifully-illustrated book should serve as a wonderful addition to any child’s personal library or a school library’s book collection.

About the Book
This is a book for five to nine year-olds. It addresses their fears and helps them see how to overcome them. And it manages to help children by using rhyme; it is somewhat like an illustrated poem for children. As one teacher who read a manuscript of the work says: ” The rhythm and rhyme give it a familiar “Dr. Seuss” feeling. It treats an important issue for children in a way that is appropriate for children and easy for them to understand. Outstanding!”
Ms. Brown continues:
It makes an important point without sounding too preachy or teachy, which isn’t always easy to do…It is good for prediction, too. I found myself wondering what the big lump was going to turn out to be ( I thought it was fear, which I guess was close). I will see if my kids will guess it. I think it will also lend itself well to further discussion “lumps” each of us carries around with us?

About the Book
This is a book for those who are trying to cope with an illness and those who have survived. It is a book for any person who loves the beauty that Mother Nature has given this world. In addition to Ms. Brackett’s written responses to the different photos, there are spaces for the reader to share his/her musings. Thus, it is more than a book of breathtaking photos; it is a journal. It allows readers an opportunity to write their own personal responses to the work and life as a whole.
Ms. Brackett invites readers to enjoy this work:
I would like to finish by saying thank you for sharing a moment of your time with me…Go, and let life embrace you to the max and remember “one good thing each day.”
About the Author
Ms. Sherry Brackett is a retiree from a major automotive company, a wife, mother, and grandmother, and a cancer survivor. As a cancer survivor, perhaps, this experience has sharpened her sense of what is important and given her the ability to capture it on film. Every photograph clearly illustrates the title. Ms. Brackett’s keen eye at seeing Nature at her best is incomparable. There are many talented photographers. However, there are those who demonstrate more than talent; they demonstrate a gift. Ms. Brackett’s photos illustrate that gift. The response to her work has been so very positive that she has begun a company, Sherry M. Brackett Enterprises, LLC.
